On October 10, 2025, with the final steel box girder section, weighing 227.3 tons, being precisely positioned, the south-side approach span of the Ningbo Xiangshan Bay Sea-Crossing Bridge for the Ningbo Metro Xiangshan Line was successfully closed. The foundation of the bridge is supported by steel pipe piles supplied by Jiangsu Shunli Cold-Formed Section Steel Industrial Co., Ltd. (SHUNLI STEEL). This critical milestone marks a breakthrough in the project's progress, laying a solid foundation for the full connection of the entire bridge.

The construction of the Ningbo Xiangshan Bay Sea-Crossing Bridge faced multiple challenges, including complex sea conditions, dense ship traffic, and wind interference from adjacent bridges. As the foundational support for the bridge, the steel pipe piles manufactured by SHUNLI STEEL, with their excellent corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity, provided reliable assurance for the bridge construction. The closed approach span's steel box girder measures 15 meters in length, 21.6 meters in width, and 4.5 meters in height, equivalent to the weight of approximately 160 passenger cars. The project employed an incremental launching and closure technique. The large segment of the approach span's steel box girder, weighing over 1,700 tons, was incrementally launched and then laterally shifted to "make way" for the closure section. After the closure segment was hoisted into place, the main span was shifted back.

Currently, for the entire Ningbo Metro Xiangshan Line, all stations have entered the electromechanical installation and interior fitting-out stage, all shield tunneling sections are fully connected, all 18 mountain tunnels are through, elevated bridge sections are approximately 95% complete, and the sea-crossing bridge is about 78% complete. Three track-laying bases are operating simultaneously. The bridge foundation portion involving SHUNLI STEEL is progressing smoothly, providing strong support for the timely opening of the entire line.

The Xiangshan Bay Sea-Crossing Bridge is a key controlling project for the Ningbo Metro Xiangshan Line. Upon completion, it will significantly shorten the travel time between Xiangshan and downtown Ningbo. SHUNLI STEEL is honored to participate in this major infrastructure project benefiting the public, contributing to regional transportation development with its high-quality products and services. In the future, SHUNLI STEEL will continue to uphold the philosophy of "Quality First, Customer Foremost," providing reliable steel structure solutions for more major infrastructure projects.
